About Us
We're four friends, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and full-time working moms who discovered our unexpected obsession with American mahjong. What started as a casual game night quickly turned into a shared passion - one that sparked laughter, creativity, and a new sense of connection outside of the operating room.
As we spent more time playing, we found ourselves dreaming up ideas for tile sets that didn’t yet exist — collections with stories, heart, and personality. We’d joke, “We should just make our own!” until one day we realized… It wasn't such a crazy idea after all. That’s how Mac + Miller Mahjong was born — out of friendship, creativity, and a love for the game that brought us together.
Our name is a nod to both sides of who we are. In anesthesia, when we place a breathing tube for surgery, we use either a Macintosh (Mac) or Miller laryngoscope blade. It felt fitting to tie that part of our world — the science and care that unite us professionally — into our new creative one. And because we’re the ones who “put people to sleep,” the dreamy tone of our brand and logo grew naturally from that connection.
At Mac + Miller Mahjong, we design tile sets and accessories that celebrate beauty, belonging, and play. Every collection tells a story — sometimes whimsical, sometimes bold, always meaningful. Through this little dream-turned-business, we’ve found a space that lets us be creative while celebrating a game that symbolizes friendship, focus, and joy.
We wanted to build a mahjong brand that feels inclusive, approachable, and made for everyone — especially women from all walks of life. No exclusivity. No perfectionism. Just community, creativity, and connection through the tiles of your dreams.
